Form-finding and Form-making
Louisiana State University
2019
Description: This is a four-week project on a series of exercises on form finding and form making. The students started physical form-finding by using Heinz Isler's hanging fabric design methodology for designing thin shell structures. They continued the exercise by conceptualizing discrete and panelized surface representations for the form-found surface. Afterward, they used Rhino and Grasshopper to recreate those surfaces before they make a detailed model of the structural system.
