Description: Scriptocate (Script + Fabricate) is a course where students explore computational design and digital fabrication techniques in contemporary practice for generating artifacts. The course is taught in collaboration with the CoAD Fabrication Factory. The goal of the course is to introduce students to the inherent contradictions and complexities of file-to-artifact production. The intent of this project was to examine file-to-production workflows by designing a lamp. Made out of sheet materials, the functionality of the lamp and different ways that it creates shadows were key considerations.
