Deployable Exhibition Stand
design and exploration of pantographic structures
University of Michigan
2012
Description: Inspired by the pantograph structures of Emilio Perez Pinero, s deployable structural system was designed for an exhibition stand. The stand could turn into a compact and portable object and fit into a small trailer for transport.
Assembly of the units is a quick kit of parts, with a deployable pentagraph component, bars for hanging lights and artwork, side panels locking the structure in place, and roof paneling.
Multiple design iterations were designed and analyzed to meet the weight and strength criteria.
